Welcome to Polish Catalysis Club
The goal of the Polish Catalysis Club activities is to support the development of catalysis science and its practical industrial applications. To achieve these goals, the Club organizes Annual Polish Conference on Catalysis (Ogólnopolskie Kolokwium Katalityczne) with scientific institutions, organizes public lectures and readings on catalysis science, promotes cooperation between science and industry in the field of catalysis, promotes the study of catalysis and related fields among students of chemistry faculties, participates in activities and initiatives undertaken by institutions and societies, both domestic and international, aimed at developing catalysis science and related disciplines, establishes and awards prizes and distinctions, and organizes competitions in catalysis and its applications, including for the student community. It also provides grants, information, and develops opinions and positions on the development of catalysis science and related industries for government authorities, scientific authorities, and social organizations, either on its own initiative or at their request.
Members of the Club, operating nationwide, are individuals conducting research in the field of catalysis, including undergraduate and graduate students, as well as practitioners from institutes and industrial plants.
The Club's main activity is organizing the annual National Catalysis Colloquium in Krakow. These colloquiums, initiated in 1968, gather approximately 80-100 people interested in various areas of catalysis for three-day meetings.
The Club also awards prizes for the best doctoral theses in the field of catalysis.
Among the Club’s most important achievements was the organization of the following international conferences: the Third European Catalysis Congress EuropaCat in Krakow in 1997 (together with the Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences), the Eighth World Congress on Oxidation Catalysis in Krakow in 2017 (together with the Jerzy Haber Institute of Catalysis and Surface Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences) and the co-organization of the Fifteenth European Catalysis Congress EuropaCat in Prague in 2023 (together with the “Catalysis” Working Group of the Czech Chemical Society, the Hungarian Catalysis Society and the Slovak Catalysis Society).
We invite you to learn about our activities, news, and board members.
